As a student, your human rights should be protected on campus. This means that you have the right to be free of discrimination based on your race, place of origin, nationality, colour, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, age, or any mental or physical disability you might have.

If you are a university or college student
If you are a university or college student, you are represented by the Canadian Federation of Students (CFS). The CFS is an organization that represents over 300,000 full-time and part-time college and university students in Ontario, as well as students in other provinces. The CFS represents you as part of a student union at your college or university. They lead students-rights campaigns so you can have access to a fair and inclusive education without discrimination. You can use their information and resources to understand your rights when you’re in school.
If you are a student with a disability
If you area student with a disability and use accessibility services, the Ontario Human Rights Commission guidelines protect you. As a student, you have privacy rights and the right to be accommodated if you have a physical or mental disability.
